Dyslexia Diagnostic Assessment

Dyslexia Assistance offers full diagnostic assessments in the Hampshire, Surrey and West Sussex areas to see if someone is dyslexic. 

The assessment takes approximately two and a half to three hours and will enable parents and teachers to pinpoint the intervention needed for support.

Standardised and diagnostic procedures used cover

* Reading (rate, accuracy, fluency, efficiency and comprehension)

* Spelling

* Working and short term memory

* Phonological awareness and phonological processing

* Visual perception

* General underlying ability (verbal and non verbal)

* Writing

* A screening for Dyspraxia can also be undertaken

 The report is sent within two weeks of the diagnostic assessment and includes strategies moulded to meet the needs of the assessee.

Dyscalculia Diagnostic Assessment

Dyslexia Assistance also offers full diagnostic assessments to see if someone has dyscalculia. Dyscalculia is a condition that affects the ability to acquire arithmetical skills. Dyscalculic learners may have difficulty understanding simple number concepts, lack an intuitive grasp of numbers, and have problems learning number facts and procedures.

The assessment takes approximately two and a half hours.

Access Arrangements for Exams Assessment

Access arrangements in exams allow students with particular requirements to perform to their best ability. 

Dyslexia Assistance can assist in writing the full diagnostic report helpful for Examination Access Arrangements.

Dyslexia Assistance can also visit schools and colleges to undertake these assessments. Caroline Goulton has lots of experience in this area and can send the school a copy of her current certificates for JCQ inspectors.

Disabled Students' Allowance

Dyslexia Assistance can also write Disabled Students' Allowance reports for students in Hampshire, Surrey and West Sussex. This is for students studying at a Higher Education Level. To claim for Disabled Students' Allowance, a report should be completed after the 16th birthday of the assessee.
